Short communication: Comparison of hemato-immunological parameters in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss): Palomino vs naturally pigmented varieties

Aim of the study: To evaluate hemato-immunological parameters in Palomino trout compared to naturally pigmented rainbow trout.
 Area Fars province (SW Iran).
 Material and methods: Sixty fish both varieties (30 30 pigmented) were sampled from same pond. After blood sampling, hematological parameters, total serum protein immunoglobulin (Ig), phagocytic activity, respiratory burst lysozyme, bactericidal activity measured.
 Main results: Number white cells, protein, immunoglobulins, activities significantly higher than those trout. However, no significant changes observed no. red hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume, hemoglobin concentration, differential leukocyte count, phagocytic, activity.
 Research highlights: The immune system performance was similar fish. some cases, response may be even more robust that This finding helps us favor breeding programs genetic modification.
